Brown Deer Library Now Open to the Community

Formerly a bank building, the renovated structure opened in April, and features rooms and conveniences that will enhance the lives of local residents.

The Village of Brown Deer, along with Corporate Contractors, Inc. (CCI) and Kueny Architects, are thrilled to announce the opening of the new Brown Deer Library. The newly renovated library — constructed from an existing structure that previously served as a bank — includes program rooms, a children’s play area, a gaming room, study rooms, a monumental staircase, and space for the local historical society.

“This project required a high degree of innovation and creativity,” said CCI Superintendent Hans Lederer. “We added a lot of structural steel, and had to build features that would support the weight of the second floor. We’re incredibly pleased with the final product, and know that the community will be as well.”

Hans also discussed the exciting features that were constructed with local residents in mind. He believes that the community will be especially fond of the floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor, the new stairwell, the first floor common area with computers, and the children’s program room for arts and crafts.

“This building is a lot brighter than the previous library, and it has stunning architectural elements,” Hans continued. “Each room — and all of the included amenities — will help residents of all ages thrive.”

You can visit the new library at 4301 West Brown Deer Road. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 11am until 5pm, and Saturdays from 10am until 2pm.
