driving down to pass out supplies and lend emotional support to those working to clean up their homes.

BELOIT – When Sara Ward thinks about Hurricane Harvey victims, she is overcome with the desire to help. It’s part of the reason she is loading up a trailer with supplies and driving down to assist with relief efforts on Sept. 20.

“God has placed His hand on my heart and called me to do this,” Ward said. “I need to get there. I have to be there to help these people.”

With an air mattress packed and her heart set on service, Ward hopes to live amongst the people who are suffering. She’s ready to help clean up, lend emotional support or help babysit while overwhelmed parents work to rebuild their lives.

She plans to visit the Beaumont and Orange, Texas areas as well as a portion of Houston.

Although she’s not sure how it will all play out, she’s stepping out in faith and believing her mission will be a success. As of Monday, she’d already received some water and supply donations from co-workers.

“I don’t know what I’m going to walk into, but I know I have to be there,” Ward said.
