Despite the inherent challenges of working outdoors through a harsh Wisconsin winter, the CCI build team overcame every blustery, freezing, or snow-covered obstacle encountered, and have set their sights on opening within the second half of the 2021 baseball season. Several local companies working on the project went above and beyond over the past few months. Bevara Electrical was tasked with the challenge of overcoming harsh arctic-like conditions during all underground installations. Additionally, Area Erectors worked overtime to put up various structures, which shaved two weeks off their initial time estimate. Special recognition must also be given to the dedicated team at Lewis Concrete. Even with the seemingly unending bitter temperatures, all masonry and concrete work continued as scheduled. “We are so proud of the progress the build team made over the winter,” said Mark Hartwig, CCI Project Manager. “The tireless hours of work that they put in over these last few months will ensure that dedicated Beloit Snappers fans will get to watch their team in action later this season.” Looking ahead, the construction team is now entering one of the more pivotal phases of the project. With the start of the Snappers’ baseball season on the horizon, the specialty contractors and skilled tradespeople are ready to knock their remaining tasks out of the park to be ready in time to host games within the second half of the season. Those who drive by the ABC Supply Stadium can expect to see rapid changes in the near future. Over the coming months, the CCI build team will be working on several exciting construction phases: • The veneer brick will be put in place • Parking lots will be poured and painted • The scoreboard structure will be assembled • All concrete flatwork and sidewalks will be finished • The inside of the stadium will have all cabinets and drywall installed • Overhead doors will be installed With some of the most challenging winter months of construction concluded, CCI and the build team are looking forward to opening day and hearing the first ever and much anticipated “crack of the bat” in the stadium later this fall. “The stadium is going to be a fantastic addition to the local community,” Hartwig noted. “Having a new baseball stadium built to major league standards will be a significant asset for Beloit and the surrounding areas.” Be sure to visit www.cciwi.com f or the latest news and developments on this exciting project.
