The Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce Honors CCI As Large Business of the Year I n March, at their 96th Annual Dinner event, the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce recognized Corporate Contractors Inc. (CCI) as the 2023 “Large Business of the Year.” According to GBCC President and CEO Aimee Thurner, “The board was looking for a company that has made a significant investment in the region including job creation, site location and expansion of new business opportunities, and CCI embodied all of these characteristics.” CCI has strong ties to Beloit and has renovated or constructed many structures throughout the community, including ABC Supply Stadium, the Beloit College Powerhouse, NorthStar, and the Ironworks Campus. Even more, CCI has given back to the area in a number of ways. The company often partners with local non-profit organizations and schools while supporting city and county economic development operations to help direct positive change. In addition, CCI not only offers high school graduates internships, it’s associates participate on local boards and organize donation drives and other local events, like the Dare to Dream Community Construction Zone, that are created to encourage young people to explore the construction industry as a career. In 2020 CCI also established the Power of Us Scholarship for this purpose. Funded on a volunteer basis by CCI associates who set aside some of their paychecks each week, the program has awarded $28,000 to 27 students since its founding. In accepting the award from the GBCC, Brad Austin, President of CCI, thanked Diane Hendricks as well as the Chamber for the honor they bestowed upon CCI. He went on to say, “We are proud to be part of, and to have helped build, the greater Beloit community for the past 40 years. Personally, I find it humbling and immensely gratifying to drive around town and physically see the impact that the CCI team has made in all corners of this community. Of course, we are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication of our incredible associates. And we’re also highly appreciative of the support we’ve received from this community, as well as our amazing project partners and build-team members. But we’re not done! We look forward to many more years of growth, prosperity and shared achievement within our community.” CCI recently announced the promotion of Homer Auge from VP of Roofing Operations to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). As CCI’s second-in-command, Homer’s responsibilities now include leadership of all company operations which will allow us the ability to leverage his strengths and business acumen across the entire organization. “A positive change for the company, this promotion recognizes Homer’s significant contributions to the company over the years,” said Brad Austin, President of CCI. “We are truly excited that Homer is a key member of the leadership team and look forward to his insights that help navigate our continued growth.” The success of Homer’s career is a true representation of CCI’s diverse, mentoring culture where professional achievement is fostered, and dedication and hard work are recognized. “I am truly humbled for this opportunity and will strive to help proactively guide CCI with compassion,” Auge shared. “As a company, we have experienced amazing success over the years, and I hope to build upon that momentum to make CCI the best we can be now and well into the future.” Homer Auge Appointed Chief Operating Officer CCI President, Brad Austin, accepts the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce “Large Business of the Year’” award.
