Winter Construction Wraps Up, All Eyes On Most Pivotal Months For Building The Future Home Of The Beloit Snappers
In the midst of subzero temperatures and multiple winter storms, our dedicated build team has continued to make incredible progress on the construction of the ABC Supply Stadium. Despite the inherent challenges of working outdoors through a harsh Wisconsin winter, the build team overcame every blustery, freezing, or snow-covered obstacle encountered. Fans of the Beloit Snappers will be pleased to know that the project remains on track for the much-anticipated fall 2021 opening.
We’d also like to commend several of our local contractors who went above and beyond this winter. One company that delivered unparalleled expertise and ingenuity over the last several months was Bevara Electrical. They were tasked with the challenge of overcoming harsh artic-like conditions during all underground installations. Leaning on their exceptional work ethic, the team kept the project moving forward with no delays. They also produced several value engineering options for staying on budget.
Additionally, Area Erectors worked overtime to put up various structures, which shaved two weeks off the initial time estimate. Special recognition must also be given to the team at Lewis Concrete. Nearly every day since September, they have tirelessly poured concrete around the entire facility. Even with the seemingly unending bitter temperatures, all masonry and concrete work continued as scheduled.
Looking ahead, we are now entering one of the more pivotal phases of the project. With the start of the baseball season quickly approaching, builders are now getting down to the wire. Fans who are counting down the days until they can see their beloved Beloit Snappers play at the new stadium should drive by the site in the coming weeks to watch its progress.
More specifically, we will be working the following construction phases:
- The veneer brick will be put in place.
- Parking lots will be poured and painted.
- The scoreboard structure will be assembled.
- All concrete flatwork and sidewalks will be finished.
- The inside of the stadium will have all cabinets and drywall installed. Interior walls will also be painted.
- Overhead doors installed.
- Flooring finishes completed.
With some of the most challenging winter months of construction behind us, we’re getting even closer to opening day and hearing the first ever and much anticipated “crack of the bat” in the ABC Supply Stadium. Continue to check back with us for the latest news and developments on this project.
