YMCA Project Receives Gold Award

Corporate Contractors Inc recognized for excellence in construction

BELOIT, WI – The Stateline Family YMCA was recognized as one of Wisconsin’s most impressive and unique construction projects in 2018.

Stateline Family YMCA Project Recognized for ExcellenceCorporate Contractors Inc. (CCI) received a Gold Projects of Distinction Construction Excellence Award by Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin for its work on the project.

The CCI build-team successfully completed a challenging renovation of an 80,000 sq-ft former manufacturing site into a one-of-a-kind YMCA athletic facility. With its methodically preserved industrial character, the center features an indoor water park with three pool areas and whirlpool, childcare facilities, basketball court, racket ball courts, three locker rooms, exercise rooms, a second-floor rubber running track, multi-purpose rooms, fitness center, weight room, wellness center, and administrative office areas. There was not an area that remained untouched by the extensive transformation.

The YMCA project was judged in a rigorous process by a panel of construction experts and was given the Gold Projects of Distinction Construction Excellence Award based on a number of criteria, including safety, quality, owner satisfaction, execution and coordination, budgeting, difficult and unusual challenges, and overall distinctiveness.

“This is an opportunity to recognize the professionalism of our contractor members who perform outstanding work for a wide variety of clients in areas like manufacturing, hospitality, and education,” said John Mielke, ABC of Wisconsin president. “What makes the Projects of Distinction Awards program so special is that none of these award-winning projects are ordinary. Each one is unique and interesting.”

“There is no other Y facility like this in the country and I’m proud of our build team. They overcame numerous challenges to complete this incredible YMCA center with state-of-the-art amenities,” commented Brad Austin, CCI president. “Doug Britt and his team at the Y are amazing partners and I’m thrilled to see their continued success since opening.”

The Projects of Distinction Awards recognizes projects that are built on merit. The awards were presented at a Feb. 14 banquet in Wisconsin Dells.
